Each year, the Department’s Research Units organize the following summer schools

Since the summer of 2002, the Olympia Summer Academy has been offering annually a wide range of specialized courses in Politics and International Studies. The Academy is co-organized by the Institute of International Relations (IDIS), Navarino Network, and the European International Studies Association (EISA).

Participants benefit from:

  • a faculty at the cutting edge of academic research;
  • a worldwide scholarly network that each year brings together a highly diverse and talented group of about 100 graduate students and professors from more than 30 countries;
  • a program with a tremendous social dynamic and friendly atmosphere, where the intellectual bonds and relationships formed during its course continue long after its conclusion

Since the summer of 1992, the Institute of International Relations (IDIS) has been organizing annually The IDIS International Studies Summer Seminar. Its main purpose is threefold:

  • To invite world-leading IR scholars, so as to promote the academic study of IR in Greece.
  • To foster the creation of international scholarly networks of cooperation.
  • To provide a platform for the professional socialization of young researchers

Since May 2005, the European Research and Training Center on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action (EKEKDAAD) – has being organizing an Annual International Law Seminar and International Conference at Nafplion, which features two parts. A Doctoral School, during which PhD candidates and master students present their research before a panel of international and European law professors and respond to questions of both methodology and substance.

At the end of the Seminar an International Conference is organized among renowned experts of international law and human rights, since 2016 with the cooperation of the Council of Europe

European Research and Training Center on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action (EKEKDAAD) – Partner of JEAN MONNET NETWORK GOVUNET.

 

Since 2017 EKEKDAAD In Cooperation with the Jean Monnet Network GOVUNET coordinated by the University of the Aegean and Luxembroug University, is co-organizing an Annual Summer School based in Mytilene (Lesbos, Greece) for doctoral, master’s and graduate students from the GovUnet Partners and other Academic Institutions.

European Research and Training Center on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action (EKEKDAAD) – Coordinator of the Erasmus – Intensive Seminar on CIPROHA since 2012

The Humanitarian Action and Civil Protection in the EU Intensive Course (CIPROHA) is an initiative funded by the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation under the ERASMUS LLP of the European Commission, and coordinated by European Research and Training Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of Panteion University. Designed to promote a multidisciplinary training in order to enable students and practitioners to respond effectively to the current challenges of humanitarianism, natural disasters, migration flows and public health emergencies
